Hi how's it going this is eric st-pierre from sudbury ontario. I'm emailing you because i'm putting together a scene report of all Northern Ontario scenes and cities. Once final, with Northern Ontario scene report, it will be sent to Maximum Rock'n'roll to be viewed by the thousands of people who read it. This way people in the outside world will be more conscious of bands, shows and zines from out here. Anyways what i'm asking from you is that if it be no problem to send me a punk scene report from your city. The way to do a scene report is to write about the bands out there, what they're sound is, what they do, anything interesting about them, also you should send an addresses or something that people can contact this band. Same with shows, you can simply list the names or addresses of promotors. Same with zines, distro's, punk organizations, cool hangout spots, squats, etc... Also any interesting information the city or the scene should also be sent. There's an example of the scene report at the bottom. (if you are not interested in doing a scene report can you pass this message to someone who will) thanx
In the years that i've been reading MRR, i still haven't a scene report from any Northern Ontario cities. So i decided to gather information from most Northern Ontario cities in order to get one scene report. Northern Ontario is different from Southern Ontario, because it's very far away, Toronto a four hour ride, Ontario is split up in two, the South and the North, it is vast in land, it's compromised of mining towns, rural farms, and has a lot of trees and a high unemployment rate. And Globalization is settling in nowadays, forcing bankruptcy for local businnesses. The biggest city is Sudbury, with an estimated population of 200 000 people for say. There are no venues, but a few promotors, call Matt Lipartiti _________, Charlie Burger__________, UAPS___________. Shows usually house from 50-300 punks. Sudbury bands are plentiful, Freestyle has been around for a few years now, they're sound is of a new school sound, there's not much to say about this band. contact for merchandise at_________.The Unexplained
sound=crusty and hardcore with originality, they are very expressive of their political beliefs, can be contacted to put on shows, at www.gurlpages.com/music/unexplained . Board Stiff, sound=newschool, this guys get into what they play. Skinny and the Starvations, sound=ska/punk, contact for material possessions at ________. There are plenty of other bands out here but i see no point in discribing every single one, since most people reading this haven't heard of either bands. A group of seven have gotten together and formed UAPS (united anarcho-punks of sudbury), our collective puts on shows, vegan BBQ, has a distro and does other activities. We plan to get a venue or punk house down the line. If out-of-town bands need shows then they should contact UAPS,at http://tinpan.fortunecity.com/blur/16/uaps.htm . A local zine should be out by the time you're reading this, contact UAPS. Places to stay, you can squat a couple buildings in the downtown core, near the railroad. There is a coffee shop where a lot of
punks hang out it's called the Dark room cafe on Larch street, downtown. There are also a couple of skate parks uphere. That's all for sudbury.
I'm also woundering if your band or any bands that you know would want to play a Northern Ontario HardCore festival, bands that are speedy or punk rock or any bands associated to the punk scene. The NOHC will be hosted next summer, in the outskirts of sudbury, but at this moment i'm trying to get bands who are interested to play to contact me. Well, the rumors that the public has been hearing are not true. Despite

Belly Up, the band will still continue thier playing. The band still intends
